Hi does anyone know the size of the Gas copper pipe used in Uk motorhomes

thanks

I have in the past used an 8mm opened spanner to check size, if it fits on pipe it's 8mm if it doesn't it likely to be 10mm.(y)

On mine its all 8mm downstream of the regulator (dont know what it is upstream, didn't touch that). Measured it with a vernier caliper in order to buy some new compression olives, so sure about that.

Be aware there are several different types of olive depending on the fitting

Ah. I noticed some olives are copper and fatter, others are brass and look thinner. They all have the same inside diameter. Noticed this on 15mm and 22mm water pipework too. What is the difference, and where are the different types used? I didn't know this and have ignored the difference, haven't noticed a failure. Yet .....

There are different materials and slightly different widths on standard pipe sizes. But on gas fittings there are bigger differences and I have always used the correct olive, so haven’t had any problems.

There are parallel olives, stepped olives, barrel olives, and more. I ordered a few of each so I had whatever would be needed.
