Looking to go to Manchester for a weekend and looking for sites near rail/tram stations for access to the city.

Any recommendations?

TIA

CAMC site at Bury, but not good for public transport.

If you just want street parking near a tram stop for the day while you visit, there is a parking area near Newton Heath & Moston tram stop. The tram stop is on Dean Lane, and a short walk away is St Marys Road. By the side of the road there is a wide designated parking area, wide enough for large vehicles. It's quite long, and there are no marked bays so any length of vehicle would be fine.

Metrolink tram from Bury into Manchester is great. When we’ve been there was a bus from fairly close to site into Bury centre (but obviously may not run any longer.)

Theres a small pub, which allows free overnight parking in Marple Bridge, its about a twenty minute walk to the train station with direct rains into Manchester. We stayed there a couple of years ago, its perfectly adequate for a couple of nights, typical pub food, but it was fine!

New Mills Marina is a CAMC CL a few minutes walk from New Mills Newtown station with regular trains to Manchester Piccadilly.
Also Whitecroft Farm CL (CAMC) at Strines. A short walk from the CL to Strines station on the line from New Mills Central Station to Manchester Piccadilly.
Have used both, and both excellent for trips into Manchester. The Strines site is quieter but fewer stopping trains on this line.

I've frequently use both sites mentioned by BobilG600. My family live in New Mills.

The Marina is close to the Swizzels toffee factory and sometimes has night shifts.

When I stay on the Strines site I take a walk to New Mills Central or Marple stations.

Of the two sites I prefer the peace of Strines, my wife prefers the town of New Mills and its Marina.

Bury is on the Metrolink to Manchester. I've used that and the CMC site several times.

Burrs CMC is probably the best. I was there a few weeks ago checking out a few bits I had added to my van and noticed the bus stop is about 10 minute walk. Trams from Bury Interchange will take you to most places in the city and run every 6 minutes. They run until about 1am. Bury is a busy town centre and there will be lots of taxis available if you need them too and from the site, it’s about 2 miles so shouldn’t be too expensive.

Thanks all, Burrs CAMC site will probably suit us best.
Between £20 and £30 for a one way uber taxi from burrs to the centre of Manchester. A 20 minute walk to the tram stop. We usually tram in and taxi back.
