Hi
We planning to go to Wales from the North East of England, can anyone recommend sites near villages or towns, with roads passable , many thanks and Merry Xmas 🎅

Chirk, Lady Margaret CAMC site. 15mons walk to Main Street 45 min walk to Chirk castle. Site just reopened this week. Best facilities I’ve seen.

Erwlon Campsite in Llandovery is a regular place we visit. A short stroll to the co op with a number of pubs and a curry house in the village.

I know it's not strictly the question you asked but if you are in North Wales the City of Chester is just 4 miles from the border you can park overnight on the Roodee Dee Car Park then just normal car park price on the day, a five minute walk into the centre of Chester. There are motorhome parking bays along the edge of the river on the car park.

For a real Welsh experience there are some Brit stops and other places to stop near Betws-y-Coed and a very large car park were you can stop in the day it really is worth a visit but as everywhere check the road conditions, beautiful scenery worth hava Google.

Conway also car parking for Motorhomes if you can find somewhere near to stay overnight.

Powys CC allow overnighting in their carparks. Right in the centre of some lovely towns - Brecon, Crickhowell, Hay on Wye, etc..
