We are setting off for the minimeet near Inverness on Tuesday and wondered if anyone knew of a good place to stop Northumberlandish? The weather forecast looks better on the eastern coast so would like to go that way rather than the lakes.

Any information gratefully appreciated. We like to be near a beach, or lake.

Or Budle Bay right on the coast and 2 miles from historic Bamburgh and its fine castle .

Wildcamp at the car park for the Flodden Field battle site, just north of Wooler.

(or the seafront car park at Alnmouth. Not strictly allowed but if you pay your £1.50 daily parking charge and don't ask you'll be OK.)

alnmouth

alnm, outh is lovely or if you spend the day then go to alnwick rugby club site for the night has a club on and showers:BigGrin:
