Hi, I have one of these units in my Burstner 660 (2003) which I have never used and I'm going to remove.

It appears to take engine coolant water which passes through a heat exchanger and a blower / warm air unit. There is also a small fan control switch. Its 12v dc.

Just message me if interested ......

I have sent you a PM.

hi iceclimber, is this still available?

Flamenca has expressed a keen interest ..... so has 1st dibs on this .......

Hi iceclimber , I know it's a long time ago but when you removed this did coolant leak I have one and was going to get rid of it because it's leaking a bit but there is only a cut off valve on one side of the circulation system so wasn't sure if I had to do anything else , Thanks Keith

The coolant pipes running to the unit are a circuit with water flowing through both. If you remove the heat exchanger unit you just need to join the two pipes together otherwise the pressure in the coolant system when the engine warms up will force water out of the pipes. Once joined, the existing cut off valve will prevent the water circulating but one side might still get warm eventually whilst the engine is running. If your going to bin the exchanger perhaps you could send it in my direction. I'd be happy to pay the postage. PM if that might be possible.

Brilliant thank you , I will obviously be doing this when the motorhome is cold and hasn't ran for a couple of days , Will the water start flying everywhere while I'm doing this or just drip out as there is no pressure , Thanks

If I do end up taking it put I will send it onto you but the reason I'm taking it out is there is a small drip coming from the unit itself so not sure if it's any use to you

Remove the radiator or overflow header bottle cap in the engine bay momentarily to release any pressure in the system before undoing anything. It's very likely coolant water will flow out as soon as you undo any of the pipes connected to the exchanger. You would need to partially drain down the engine coolant to fully prevent this. However, if you turn off the isolator on one pipe you could use a mole grips or similar to clamp the other pipe before cutting it. This will prevent most of the water escaping but there will still be some in the pipes and the exchanger so have a big bowl and some old towels ready.
