Stayed at Seacroft CAMC site Cromer a week ago and noticed that at least two hand basin sinks were missing plugs in the Gents shower block . The washing up room had no plugs in any of the sinks . This is not an anti CAMC thread but when a plug costs a few pence why would people steal them ? Have they an alternative use that I am not aware of ? I should add that the thieves had also taken the chains that the plugs would have been attached to.

Maybe they were not there in the first place? Washing up sinks to be used with own bowls.?
A warden once explained to me that everything gets nicked - plugs, door hooks (a favourite), toilet seats, toilet rolls, shower hoses etc. He said that once, all the middle hinges on the toilet and shower doors had been unscrewed and stolen - the thief obviously thought a top and bottom hinge was enough!
