Does anyone know where to pick up the live wiring from the panel switch to operate a shureflo pump on Autosleeper Stanton and can you leave the submersible in situ

Is it possible to use the live feed to the submersible pump that is being left in place ?
Yes it is. just isolate the other wire and find an earth nearby. The submersible pump can be left where it island and will act as a filter as it has a mesh filter on it, because of that you can get away without using the filter that would usually be fitted with the shurflow pump but if there is room you should fit it to give as much protection to the pump as you can. Having said that they are pretty tough bits of kit. Make sure you use a 20 psi pump as recommended by Autosleeper. You might consider a small pressure accumulator if you have room, not essential but will give a smoother slow especially in the shower.

Hi thanks for your info I'm just wondering where I connect the live so that the panel switch actuates the shurflo

Disconnect the live and earth wires from the submersible pump , which should be controlled by the panel switch , and use them to power the shurflo instead of the submersible pump , when the panel switch is on .

You don't want the Shurflo controlled by the tap micro switches, so disconnect the feed to the taps and link out ..
Also be aware you will now have 20 psi in a system that was designed for a non pressure system.. watch for leaks at hose connections and taps.. I had one pipe blow off after converting ..

I would also endeavour to the remove the submersible pump and extent the dip tube to the bottom of the tank..

You may also have to fit a non-return check valve on the feed to the Truma hot water tank.. without this, hot water can back-feed into the cold system and come out of the cold tap.. it may already be fitted.. mine wasn't.. i had to fit one

Hope its ok to post a link to another forum but this is a very good how to.

Does it need a login ?? Not that I need a new pump or that I have an Autosleeper, but I do like to read about issues and how to resolve them. PS I need a new anorak so if anyone has nothing better to do (a bit like me really reading stuff that doesn't affect me) then any recommendations are welcome .... :imoutahere:
