Shower Tray Trap

This photo shows the shower tray trap in our Pilote Galaxy. I expect it is fairly common across other marques and models. Does anyone know if the central knob comes out for cleaning? I have tried wiggling it and turning it by hand without success but it seems to be made of plastic so I am reluctant to use pliers on it.

Looks the same as the one in our Rapido but the whole chrome part comes out and theres a small bucket trap inside

I’ve tried it and, spot on, it has come out. Rather tight but that is because it has probably never moved before! Thank you very much. Now to tackle the grotty bit.

For anyone else who might be interested this is what I found. There is an O seal under the head and the whole thing came out with 2 opposing levers; or more accurately 2 teaspoon handles. Thanks again to dunnah01.
