Chausson Welcome 625
Hi Guys,

I’m hoping someone can help me. My mum has recently bought a 2016 Chausson welcome 625. She has just used the shower for her first time. Unfortunately it leaked under the plinth onto the camper floor.

I have just investigated this for her. I opened the grey water outlet, which was empty and then poured a small bottle of water down one of the drain holes. No water came out the grey water outlet. Instead all the water came out onto the camper floor. Via the underside of the panels/plinths.

I’m thinking the waste pipe is damaged significantly or is actually not connected at all. I tried to remove a small section of plinth gently, but don’t want to damage it. Incase it can’t actually be removed.

I’m hoping someone on here could give me their advice on wether the plinth in question can be removed. And if anyone has any idea why the shower is leaking so badly?

Any help would be appreciated guys👍🏾

I'm only guessing here, the piece under the cupboard must be screwed I would look at the floor in the cupboard to see if that comes out there should be screws under it maybe that are holding the bottom piece in place.

Also look underneath (outside) the motorhome directly below the shower.
(Our Adria has two access hatches in the floor below the shower).

Hi Fontie,

Thanks for your msg. The photo shows the door into the shower. The shower tray itself was screwed to the small piece of plinth. I removed these screw, but the plinth is still very ridged, from the floor side. Can’t see or access any other screws…..that I can see anyway 🙈

Hi There,

Yea I’ve looked underneath already. I can’t see any access panels. But I’m going to have another look now. All the internal partitions and plinths are more than likely all fixed down, before the roof is fitted. I can’t seem to get the small piece of plinth off. The door in the picture, is the door for the shower. The shower tray was actually screwed from the inside to the small piece of plinth. I removed these screws. But the plinth is still very rigid from the floor side🙈

If you mum has 'recently bought' it, have you spoken to the dealer or seller. Depending on your definition of recently. if bought from a dealer, they should be sorting it.

The curved plinth under the cupboard appears to have a warm air outlet (round hole) and this will be fixed to the flexible duct by one or two self tapping screws. This is possibly what is stopping the plinth removal.

The base of the cupboard should lift out and will reveal the duct and outlet. There may be a small round hole that facilitates lifting by hooking your finger in and pulling upwards.

Remove the screws holding the duct to the outlet socket and the plinth should pull forward.

If it doesn't' pull forward, look at the sides of the plinth to see if there are any furniture fixing blocks that need removing by taking out the fixing screws.

Perhaps a picture with the door open would help us understand a bit better🤔

I had a similar issue with shower and a the issue was a cracked joining connection. Push-fit if I remember right. Probably happened during a hard frost.

I had to go in via the toilet cassette locker but that was a completely different van to yours.

Have you investigated the brown panel left of pictures?
Can this give access to under the tray, there must be a big problem under there if the water is coming out the hole in plinth for the air ducting.
Will need a thorough drying out when you get in to it

Whilst not the same vehicle or shower it was a leak from the bathroom sink, in the end the bathroom had to be stripped out I had a dealer do the work as it can get complex. I identified the issue by purchasing a endoscope from Tool station first by placing down the plug hole and establishing the pipe had come away and then by pushing the endoscope into the enclosed space where the pipe had become disconnected. In my case the water was pouring out just under the drivers door.

We had a 2017 Chausson, both traps in shower tray broke , Simpsons of Great Yarmouth replaced them give them a ring they may give you some idea of what has to be done and or give you a cost, mine were done under warranty in 2017, if you pm me I'll give you my name and the registration no. When I had that Motorhome. So they can accurately give you a cost.

We had a 2014 Chausson 718EB and the shower tray cracked within 2 years. This caused a similar leaking issue inside the motorhome. It was only a hairline crack which was only visible when standing in the shower. It was replaced as a goodwill claim by Chausson.

Further to my quote above I suspected it was a known fault

Like others in this thread, we had a shower leak. Ours is a Chausson Best of 04 and like “Monzer” we fixed it by going in through the toilet cassette hatch and like “Coolcats” using and endoscope to view the leak which was coming from the joint between the shower tray and the exit pipe. Quite a faff to replace and reseal!
