Hello to you all...hope you all haven't put your mh to bed quite yet...well am in a quandary...my cupboards are looking tired...as will show you in pics...two of them won't stay up..so balance on my head while getting items put...another has damage on the outside and on inside someone has glued it all back together around the hinge real messy..same also on the next cupboard so..do I replace all the doors with ply and perhaps inset them instead of how they are now..flush...so I can put normal hinges at the sides to open from right to left and vice versa and put different catches on them...then I can perhaps just paint the ply doors white...or decorate etc...to bring a bit more up to date.and make look bigger..or just leave all as they are 😒 messy ..would I devalue "Feedom" motorhome by trying to bring her upto date a little or leave alone stuck in the year 2000...Will add more pics tomorrow to show my problems...all suggestions gratefully received..sorry for lengthy question...

As you can see from pics below..doors are not good.
Also the brown catch doesnt work well so doesnt keep the bathroom door shut.. have to put something agsinst it when were driving ..there must be a different locking system that can be used for this and wardrobe door..surely.....side of wardrobe has all bubbled...so growing old gracefully..err isn't quite happening..more like falling to pieces rapidly..more like...😀

I like the new curtain colour, more modern. Personally I wouldn't change the doors or paint them. Unless you have professional equipment it would be almost impossible to get a factory finish and a DIY look would definitely reduce the appeal if you wanted to sell. Can you not just replace any faulty hinges and stays so that the doors work properly? Most bits are available with some searching. Put some pics of the broken parts on here and someone might even have some lying around 🙂

I agree with above , I would try and fix the catches etc first, you could add gas struts instead of stays maybe, they don’t cost too much

Motorhome bodies tend to flex quite a bit which is one reason why overhead locker doors are often flush rather than inset. You can have more generous clearances between panels whilst still avoiding having gaps you can see into.
If you do go flush then you will need to have gaps big enough to avoid the doors rubbing on the carcasses and making a noise.

Solution
Various reinforcing plates are available to spread the load of the hinges, just Google 'hinge repair plate'. This type of thing:-

Also those bathroom / wardrobe locks are a pain if they are not fitted correctly, usually the striker plate at the top and bottom need adjusting so that the little hooks wrap around properly when closed. If the hooks aren't moving, the centre lock part is available to buy separately, just search for 'caravan bathroom espagnolette lock'.

My van is in storage and I have been unable to get my fix of cell voltage readings or the feel of a good cupboard latching securely for a couple of weeks. Should I seek counselling?

Nothing wrong with the year 2000 look of the wood finish.
Very Retro.
Like the look of the updated furnishings.
Maybe try and get some new doors to match from a caravan breakers for the broken ones.
I happen to like the older van styles and wood, unlike the 'Ikea' styles some manufacturers seem to be moving towards and skimping on quality.

Regardless of what you think it will look like if you paint the doors, if you ever want to sell it you would have devalued it more than if you had not painted it also you will limit your buying audiance. Having said that you may not need to worry about that fact.

Try wood by post. They make new doors, I have a Bailey's Pursuit and they have a problem with the laminate coming off, several people have replaced the doors from them at a good price

So after careful thought and thinking outside the box so to speak.and taking all on board everyones veiws .I came up with this idea...see pikkies below....I made padded boards..and overlaid with cream material then covered buttons in the same blind material...then got some command strips and put on the back and stuck them up...so..IF I every wish to sell her😕then new owners can remove them all and no damage done to the cupboards and also still have all original velvet orange curtains packed away safely...so best of both worlds...just got to do the bathroom door and wardrobe door to match...
