I'm a newbie
I have recently bought and paid for a campervan in Germany, using ShipMyCar.co.uk of Milton Keynes to do the importing paperwork and UK registration for me.

Things have been going very slowly, and updates and responses have been drying up. Today I tried phoning and the number is "not recognised".

Has anyone heard anything?

I'm sure mat Armstrong was having one of his cars shipped to america about now, he is easy to find on facebook (I'm not on it) just search cars and him..I'm sure he would know about it

Update: I have now spoken to ShipMyCar and they have not gone bust.
But they have admitted to wasting 2 weeks at the beginning of the process by not doing anything, so I am really hoping they will now make things happen quickly.
So far, my new camper, unused apart for driving back from Germany, has been standing waiting in a field in the UK for nearly 2 months, and ShipMyCar have not yet applied for UK registration. They originally told me the whole process would take 3 to 4 weeks, hence my using them.

That’s terrible service, almost 2 months it’s been standing in a UK field and they haven’t applied for UK registration yet.

If you run aground with this company you could maybe contact seabridge-tours.de. Friends of ours used them to ship a motorhome from Germany to america, but I know the ship went via the U.K. Our friends were very happy with their service, as have other people I have spoken to who have used them. Their website is in English and they sort out all the ne paperwork.

National Individual Vehicle Approval now granted (Mutual Recognition Certificate) so that it can be registered in UK.

That will be an entirely separate process so over a week is wasted with one agency sending the certificate back, so that a separate application can be made to the DVLA. I’ve been told by ShipMyCar.co.uk that it could still take another 4 weeks. That will be about 3 months in total, just to do the paperwork since bringing the vehicle back from Germany myself.

I wonder if part of the problem with government agencies is that they are still, ahem, “working” from home? Whilst still being paid full salaries with excellent pensions by us, the taxpayers.
