Since july 2009 And Still Going Strong
In central portugal at the moment on a smallholding and looking at having a couple of weeks away. Won't be in the van just taking the car and will book accommodation.

Been busy and just want to chill out somewhere for a while. No need for anything touristy. Never been to either but have heard good things about both.

Is the area worth a couple of weeks to just pottle around, chill out?

Recommendations much appreciated if anyone's stayed in apartments/rentals in that area.

We'll be looking to go probably from Sunday 13th May.

Still a possibility we may take the van but just looking at other options.

Thanks all.

Shawn

I could spend 2 weeks easily in that area, preferably 2 nights in each of Seville,Jerez, cadiz/El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cordoba, Sanlucar, Chiclana area and Costa de Luz possibly stop off in Merida en route, depends on how much driving you want to do.
Malaga is worth a night but may be a bit far out.

Cordoba we have stayed in Hostal Maestre
Seville Hostal Roma or any in the area around the Museo de Bellas Artes,Plaza de Armas

Check on Booking.com or just wing it, we have done that many times.

Much closer to you are Salamanca, Avila and Caceres. Lots to see and a major bird watching area too. :)

Sanlucar Aire.
Although not adjacent to the best of beaches, as an Aire, it stands out as representing what all paid for Aires should be striving for.
You can treat it as a camp site, free fast WiFi, space, grass and all regular amenities for 10 euros a day.
Motorhomes and caravans both accepted.
English spoken by the two staff, who were amongst the nicest of people you could wish to meet.
Is two weeks too much?
Grass is always greener ...... We are all different .....
After an enforced stopover in Seville, mid summer, I could spend a lot more time near Sanlucar
