Have never done a trip on this railway. Does any one know of any campsites /Cl's near by ?
Thanks

I believe you can overnight, for a fee, in the carpark at the pub at Ribblehead station but that's a few miles out of Settle.

We did a MCC rally at Settle a few years ago on the Rugby club, Yorkshire MCC organised it.

Martin

EDIT checked the rally diary and not showing this year SORRY.

Another EDIT http://www.northlancashirecentre.co.uk/rp.php North Lancashire are doing it this year end of June but I think you are on the list for Shrewsbury Vintage @Wildge

Ah OK must be reading what I want to read:LOL: to be fair I am never sure what we are doing tomorrow never mind this/next year, big trips are a bit of a problem with Jen's mum needing a bit more help:(

There is a site about 1.5 miles from Settle,Langcliffe Park.We haven’t stayed there so not sure of costs etc but might be worth a look.

Skipton auction centre used for rallies by a lot of groups. Not far from Skipton Station.

Thanks all...... I think you have to do the complete journey if you wish to dine on the train but will check !

There are 3 or 4 overnight spaces in Coach Street car park Skipton and in Greenfoot car park Settle. £5 per night I think.

Could be good here, I might be tempted this year.
Skipton is wonderful especially on market day. The fish and chips in Skipton are to die for, but don't take a MoHo into town there would be nowhere to put it.

There's a bus stop .................. and an Aldi - perfect

We have done the rail trip over the top from Skipton and you only need a return ticket to Appleby (avoid the gypsy horse fair in June) By Appleby you have seen all the best bits of the spectacular line and Appleby has some nice pubs and cafes to wait in for the train back.

It depends what you class as nearby? Knight Stainforth Hall is about 2 miles north of Settle, and has a pleasant walk all along the river, the famous Stainforth Foss is on the site and is a sight to behold when the salmon are jumping. Haven’t been for a number of years but used to stay often, walk down taxi back!(y)

Can see this is going to need some..... serious.... planning
Thanks all ...keep em coming :clap2:
