Morning folks,

I’m about to set up an ØresundPay account for our upcoming trip to Scandinavia. When doing this online and applying for a Biz tag the online form asks for a weight class, the options being either “Under 3500Kgs” or “Over 3,500kg (heavy vehicle, HGV)”.

Our van is over 3500kgs but I understand motorhomes and camper vans are treated as under 3500Kgs for tolls.

Has anyone done this and can tell me which option I should choose?

When we did Øresund bridge back in 2017 we booked a joint ferry and bridge crossing Rodbyhaven/Puttgarden didn’t have account.😊👍 At the time we had a 4250kg van and 1700kg car trailer😊 don’t recall any tolls in Sweden other than the bridge.

Not done it, but comparing what we have done in similar situations such as the Austrian Vignette, the Fulli Tag, the DartCharge etc, as long as your motorhome 'looks' like all the others, which are under 3500kg, then no one is going to be checking plates or weighing vehicles at the toll booth.

If however you have an 10m tag axle you may need to do more research.

You are not an HGV, so I would tick the 'under 3500'. I doubt you will have a problem.

If you are intending to travel around Norway it's worth getting the further ferry discount as this will save you some money. The 'bizz' will save you 10%, but the ferry extension will save you 50%.

You will need to ask Oresundpay for the separate number for the ferries - you do not use the number that is on the tag. Also, for the ferries they require you to deposit 2000 NOK* into your account, and your ferry charges are then taken out of that.

More info available if you want it - just ask!

* That's what I paid last year, it might have gone up.
