At the dealer this morning for the brake pipe recall and saw this for service prices. I know people will say they can ho to Halfords and get oil for 30 quid and a fiver for a filter but for those who dont want to or can't do it themselves I didn't think this was too bad. It was £220 a couple of years ago so inflation has taken its toll.

Interesting, they are my local dealers, you would have passed my office to get there!
They seem to be be quite good service wise, and friendly, I thought the service should be 2 yearly though, not annual?

Correct every 20k or 2 years so year 2 a small service year 4 a large one? And yes they are quite a good bunch there, they even apologised for having to go in to have the recall check which took all of 5 minutes.

I paid £129 and £280 at my local Fiat Professional garage including MOT in the £280 service.
The £129 was basically oil and filter and a check over, the £280 added fuel filter, air filter and MOT, though not brake fluid which would have been another £50-£60.
Servicing pricing varies hugely across the country, ours is done at a commercial vehicle Fiat Professiona/Iveco servicing and sales dealer.
Last year I paid £1040 but that was because I had the full cam belt/water pump kit done (genuine FIAT because they are FP they won’t do non genuine parts) plus brake fluid change, air/pollen filters, oil+filter, fuel filter and MOT.
Trying a commercial vehicle service centre has been worth it for us, as said in a previous thread we used to use the FP car dealer until we found out they sent it to a non FP van servicing centre, they couldn’t fit it on their ramps.

I pay about half that for a full service but mine is an old simple van...thought mot was 40 pounds everywhere. BUSBY.

I had a full service and MOT done on mine in November and it came to £506 I think without digging the paperwork out. Small service the year before with an MOT if I remember cost £260.
Mine was done at a dedicated Fiat dealer for large vehicles like my tag.
Best Wishes Tony

Got a quote yesterday after getting car MOT'd (£19) and booking motorhome in for it's MOT (£29) in a couple of weeks.
£175 for full service (oil, air and fuel filters, wheels off, etc) but excluding (I think, brake fluid replacement - forgot to ask:doh:).

Can I ask the name of your garage?

It amazes me that some folk will fork out 40k+ for their dream Moho, and then follow the ludicrous recommend service schedules,,, expecting the "prime mover" to run for 18000 miles on the same "bucket of oil" all to save a few quid on a yearly service.
We change oil and filter after every tour,,, so every year, usually having done 4/6 thousand miles.
Every other year we change the coolant and the brake fluid,,, can ya smell the brake temperature going over the Alps and "PairOfKnees".
The Manufacturers set the ridiculously high mileage service intervals to attract the fleet buyers...
DONT be fooled by them,,,
Service your pride and joy EVERY year,,,
It makes sense, and it pays in the long run.

They are ripping you off.

No need to take the wheels off for an oil change ?

I was in HTC Fiat Professional in Hemel Hempstead earlier this week for the recall.

Friendly service so decided to ask how much for a simple annual oil and filter change - "£480, its a complex job mate " was the answer .....

Had the motorhome in for the brake pipe recall at S G Petch Fiat Dealer in Darlington and enquired about the first 2 year service due in April. I have the Fiat 5 year extended warranty. At 11000 miles he confirmed a low mileage service was only necessary. Quoted price was £220 + vat.

This is what North East Truck and Van quoted me for a 1st service at 2 years and 12000 miles.

The cost for the Full first service is £470. This includes parts, labour and vat.

For this we would replace the engine oil , the engine oil filter, the fuel filter and air filter.

After seeing Hettie's Crew post I queried costs with a different branch and was quoted £300 plus vat for the same service - saving of £110!

Now querying using my local garage who looks after all our cars and works light vans

Bustup15 Last year (July 2020) I chose not to use NET&V Hull because there were some changes at the branch and they couldn’t decide if they would have an MOT examiner or not for when ours was due. They’ll ring and let me know, never did, I ran them, “you are on my list to contact“, still no answer, “we’ll ring you”, never did, still haven’t.
I chose to use Hull van service centre that the main Fiat dealer uses for MOT’s and servicing on larger vans they can’t accommodate.
£90 for MOT and the oil/filter service it was due.
We will use them again in July for our MOT/annual service.
