My Autosleeper on a Peugeot base will be 2 in October & will need it's first service, can anyone tell me what they have paid? Thank you

Oil and filter change should be around £100 at your local a commercial van garage.
£200 plus at a dealership .

I get mine done at a place near Southend.
Depending if it’s an A or B service, the average cost is about £150

Co-incidentally, I’m trying to get a 2yr first service on my compact Boxer MH near Huddersfield. All the Peugeot dealers say it’s too heavy for them. 3.3tonnes (actually 3.0) 6m long. I’ve always run banger cars so the concept of a guarantee and servicing is new to me.

Blimey - just thought I would ask Erwin Hymer centre for their service and habitation pricing
  • The cost of a 6 year Fiat engine service is £661.51 inc VAT
  • Camblet change is £1496.78 inc VAT plus the amount of antifreeze required at £10.20 inc VAT per litre
  • The cost of a habitation and damp inspection is £571.99 inc VAT however please be advised that we are not a Burstner dealer and therefore this inspection would not count towards validating your warranty

No idea though I have the same question. Only replying to say how much I like your emoji thing. I’m going to leave it running to see how many pints he can take before 🤮

The service cost is about right for a Fiat Professional dealer.
Why would they need antifreeze for a cambelt chand sounds like they have quoted for the water pump as well. Fiat do not recommend changing the pump on an X290.

I think like most German vans you only need a damp check to keep the water ingress warranty done by a Burstner dealer.
Never had a hab check done on any of our Hymers.

They do realize that it's 6 years old so can have a hab check from any approved mobile or garage and the base vehicle can go to any commercial vehicle garage?

Don’t know if Fiat garages will as they are basically the same. We had warranty work carried out by the Fiat car dealership at cleckheaton and ours is 7.4m and just over 3.5t. Also there is a Fiat commercial dealership Brighouse or close to the M62.

don’t know if this is too far for you, but I used Walsh at Yeadon for the first service on my Boxer. They are able to take large Motorhomes for both service and MOT.

a real old fashioned garage, I’ll be using them for the foreseeable future for the van. Can’t remember what I paid but seem to think it was about £350. Getting the service from a trustworthy garage was a greater consideration than cost but it was still less than the main dealer prices. And probably a better job done via spanner not computer.

Thanks! Did you feel that your guarantee was “safe” with them? My usual little local trustworthy guy is recommending to use a Peugeot accredited garage for first service.

I had the big service done on my bus, including aircon re-gas, filters, etc, about £300.

pat100 If I’m honest I’m not sure about the warranty. But I’m not sure about warranty length and start dates etc either!

for example, I don’t know whether the warranty starts on the day the vehicle was “commissioned” of the date it was first sold for road use. I had the “change engine oil” message last August, although the van wasn’t two years old until May 2023. But I suspect the vehicle was made ready by the importer in August 2020 and then passed to Autosleeper for them to do their bits. This would mean the oil countdown would have started in August 2020 and maybe the warranty started then too🤔. I seem to recall from other posts on this forum there’s some kerfuffle around Mercedes warranties for this very reason. Some info I have suggests it’s a two year vehicle warranty, and other things seem to indicate 3.

In the end I decided that I was getting it serviced to maintain it in safe and workable condition, as opposed to simply maintain the warranty (unlike the hab check which I only have done for warranty reasons). And I had more faith in a long established local old style garage to do this than a guy with a clip board and computer if you see what I mean…

Thanks fo taking the time to reply. I echo all your sentiments. The internet seems full of Peugeot drivers and dealers who have no clue as to what is going on with guarantees and service schedules. I think that the company is its death throes. I phoned Peugeot central and it took the tea-lady, or whoever answered, about 10 minutes to spell my name. She said they would get back to me in 5 days! I did get some sort of acknowledgment email in French! So, I’ll wait a while then either go to my local independent or Yeadon If Peugeot are still having A and elbow trouble.

Vospers in Plymouth have just quoted me £467.75 :Eeek:
Speak with Marquis, they use someone more local to Ivybridge rather than vospers. Not sure on your circumstances but they used to do it with the hab check. It's been 9 years since I last had it done there though!

If you are on the better side of the Tamar the garage at doublebois are very reasonable, I take it there for MOT.

For info I've just bought oil, filters except fuel and wiper blades it was just over £100!

Maybe your van's height could be the issue rather than weight (y)

Stellantis in Sheffield say they can do it for £479 incl VAT. Peugeot head office (eventually) said that they had Stoneacre of Chesterfield suggested to them as a possibility. I’m going to bite the bullet and have this first service done by a Peugeot dealer then always use my trustworthy local “little man” in future.

French Peugeot also suggested:
Stoneacre Halifax, Haley Hill Halifax, HX3 6ED, Phone 01422 344424
… as MH capable.

Went through similar issues with cam belt change on Peugeot boxer (58plate) Bristol Street motors Exeter could not quote kept passing me between stores and service. Vospers Plymouth did quote £1100 in the end opted for Local garage Gates kit and water pump for under Half. First Oil Change done at local garage, thereafter up on ramps and get out Allen Key.

Just had the Morelo serviced at the local Mercedes Truck dealership near the Morelo factory. The main source of business appears to be Morelo and Concorde motorhomes, so they know them inside out, unlike our local dealership who removed the floor etc. to do last years oil change (another story).
On inspection was told the computer said oil change was due in September and nothing else showing as outstanding. I wanted the oil changed as I would not be near then come September, I was told come back in 90 mins. Headed to the lovely cafe nearby for a German truckers breakfast (highlight of the visit).
90 minutes later all done and asked if I want to use their truck jetwash to which I was given about 20 tokens, great jetwash high enough to get the van under the swing arms and platform to clean the roof.
Anyway, I was expecting a bill of a few hundred Euros in my mind, the bill was slid across the table, 1030Euros. It was explained a few filters needed changed based on time, pollen filter, oil filter, compressed air filter, ad blue filter plus the oil for the oil change. Charge for labour was "only" 160 Euros. Turned out to be an expensive oil change. But must say would never have got a 90 minute turn around from our local Mercedes garage. It would have been drop off at 8am and collect at 5pm if lucky.
