How does it feel to be on your own. . Your dog “never” caused any trouble to anyone REALY !! . I rest my case, how are you so sure your pet never caused any annoyance to anyone - . A case of a blinkered dog owner if ever I so one

" Rest your case" you don't have a case, you simply don't agree with me as is your prerogative . Never the less I stand by what I said. Really. I am so sure because I always was with them and had them under control simply because I knew of people who love to complain whether justified or not and I didn't want to give them justification. Of course there were occasions when I would have loved to allow my dog to be a nuisance to or annoy someone, but I never let that happen, I could make an exception in one case if I still had a dog though.

Why do some ‘semi responsible’ dog owners pick up their pooches poop, then drop the bag on the ground or hang it on a tree?

Would it be better to leave the poop on the ground to rot?

Nah they just play ball games, ride around on scooters/bikes/skates, run around your MH having a game of tag, make a lot of noise etc ... I'll share a site with dogs anytime compared to some 'playful' kids!

I see getting upset if someone walks across your pitch a bit like getting possessive over a prostitute

Some one else will be using it tomorrow!

I have however, seen my wife drop kick a poodle off our pitch once, big spiral in the air! It crapped on our pitch, Lyn tried to grab it as it was hunkering down for a second dollop and it bit her.......Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! it went!

Its owners upped stumps and left

To the dog owner who trained their dog to only pee on grass, thanks. That’s where we sit and have a picnic and where children do cartwheels and pick daises. .

Can you tell me the exact coordinates of the roadside verge or field where you sit and have a picnic, so that I can check if either of my dogs ever went there?

You don't seem to be concerned about the other farm animals or natural wildlife, some of it microscopic, any number of which can be guaranteed to have exercised their natural bodily functions or to have been or be in the course of rotting away on just about any area of grass you can think about at any given time.

But why do you assume that because I taught my dogs only to go on grass ( or more specifically, not to go on artificial surfaces) that I would choose to consciously allow them to go on ornamental lawns, manicured or dedicated leisure areas, or any other area where families and children are known to gather for recreation? That was part of the point of my also teaching them to walk to heel and pay attention to me when on a lead, and also to only go on command when on a lead (in a suitable location) as well as exercising them in appropriate places in the countryside away from places more commonly used for family recreation.

Problem is you don't own the pitch.

As I see it, a pitch is no different from a hotel room, a pitch is for your sole use while you are paying for it, after all you wouldn't expect another guest or their dog to enter your hotel room, would you.

Please don't go all " he is an animal hater and thus a lesser human being" on me, I am not an animal hater, just a hater of lack of consideration for others.

It's not just camping sites suffering from dog owners with untrained and often unsuitable, uncontrolled dogs. Leaving the poo/pee issues aside, bad as they are......

Go to any beach/park/public recreation space, or worse still Nature Reserve (the clue to dog unsuitability is in the title) and some dogs will be running about off the lead with either uninterested owners some distance away, or the owners shouting continually and fruitlessly for the dog to return to them. Professional dog walkers with too many dogs to manage will also be there.

It appears to me that some dog owners think that because they love their "fur babies" then everyone else must love them too.

I don't have a dog for numerous reasons, such as;

I have been fairly well bitten by a doberman, despite me telling the owner that I thought it was going to attack me if I dared to move. Apparently she ( the dog) wouldn't attack me as she "has never, ever bitten anyone and is a big softy, she loves the kids".... maybe the doberman just liked the look of my leg and gave it some love via the medium of teeth, jaw pressure and blood-letting then? My own fault obviously, I found out after the event, for being a tall man as she's " not too good with tall men". I was petrified and it was very sore.
There is always a first time for a wolf- descendant biting someone.

Unfortunately I am allergic to most furry creatures.

I also like to keep my trousers/tops clean, which is difficult when a dog is " just being friendly" by running up to me ( often scaring me) and proceeding to continually jump up on me while I pirouette to avoid my face potentially being bitten off and/or avoid having to brush the dog off, the latter of which involves me having to wash my hands before I touch my face and eyes ( allergy). Not easy on a nature reserve in the middle of nowhere.

When in shorts, in a pub or elsewhere, I am not keen on having a cold and wet dog nose on my legs. Especially if it has just been up another dog's arse. See above re problems with me brushing off dogs. Not keen on dog drool or them begging for my food either.

Don't even get me started on barking. Peaceful beaches, campsites, parks, nature reserves are often disturbed by incessant barking.

I understand the pleasure folk get from looking after their free-loading canine lodgers, and I understand the companionship these mini-wolves provide, but wouldn't it be nice if all dog owners could spare a thought for us non-dog owners.
(Same applies to owners of uncontrolled brats, noisy cars which seem to only seem able to accelerate fully or stop suddenly, and those who think we all like their favourite music).

Just saying.

I’ve had dogs all my life and yes it’s bad owners that give good dogs a bad name and it’s how they are brought up and treated.

I have a 6 month old Springer spaniel and he’s still learning every Tom dock and Harry wants to stroke him and he loves it, he’s not nasty, loves everybody and gets on with everything and everyone and that’s how I’ve started to train him.

But……. When he’s out and about some sites have specific areas for dogs but you cannot tell a dog as he’s walking past a patch of grass NOOOOOOOOOOO DONT DO IT THEIR but he will and yes no gravel, grass or dirt is damaged in collecting his natural deposit from the ground.

Now, some people don’t like dogs for valid reasons but PLEASE, PLEASE stop moaning, groaning about dogs, owners it’s getting to me and my head can’t take it any more.

If you don’t like dogs fair enough but don’t tar every dog owner with the same brush and if anyone has a go at me when I’m with my dog god help you.

Springer are the best...the key thing is that owners have responsibility for their dogs and to ensure that nobody should be inconvenienced by them . I love dogs, don't have one myself but love to meet them on sites but am well aware that others do not share my views. But living on the new forest I am beyond frustrated with dog owners who let their dogs shit everywhere at the car parks. It's like a bloody mine field within 50 metres of each car park.

Absolutely shocking. I have 2 little dogs which we got when they were a year old with no training at all. Both are much improved now and 12 but for those 11 years one of them has never been off a lead anyway near another animal because he can’t be trusted. One of the most loving and faithfully little dogs who follows me around all day - BUT near another creature apart from humans turns back into a hunter who see nothing but something to chase.

All family dogs should be kept on a lead around livestock in my option. If my little thug ever slipped his lead (I actually have him in a harness after he did that once) and chased livestock I wouldn’t blame any farmer shooting him even tho it would break my heart.
