Since 2005! 2000+ nights so far...
Only posting in case anyone is interested lol

Clear skies. 2' outside. Van heating on, 25' inside.

I designed/built/insulated the van with effort and thought, but today (almost 5y on) - I've borrowed a thermal camera....

We don't use the cab and curtain it off. We know we stay snug, and know the cab is cold, but how is it reallly???

Last trip we had heating on low till bed time, off overnight, woke up usual time (not cold - maybe 15'?) put heating on. Had breakfast, tidied up, got outside and thought "brrrrr" - and van said -7'! So we know its OK in real world

Pics below. Sadly the colouring isn't consistent - so what is blue on one pic may be different temp on the other. No obvious thermal bridges :) No obvious weak points. No missed insulation. Phew.

Rear - garage - only hotspot is heater and exhaust (garage vet closed)

Side of van, cold cab, and rear lot leaching a lot of heat - a few degress (note 25' inside....)

Side door, not super insulated like the rest as limited, but 2-3' outside, 25' inside - that aint bad!

Side window (blind closed) not as bad as expected. The C pillar is the biggest leach of heat as expected
