Hi, I've had a delay to my instalation but things are looking good to continue now.

It's time to select the main breakers for the system and I'm just confirming that I have the right ones, before I order them.

I'm renewing the entire 230v system in the van, from the EHU to the Loads.

For the main EHU inlet, I want to fit a 16A rcbo. That will supply, via 2.5mm² flex cable, direct to a victron MultiPlus-II 12_3000_120-32 230V. AC 1 out, will go through a 32A RCBO and AC 2 out, will go through a 16A RCBO. Both of these circuits will go to a main consumer unit, where MCB's will supply the desired circuits.

My question is, are these types of breakers correct?
2 Pole, C Curve, A Type, 32A RCBO

2 Pole, C Curve, A Type, 16A RCBO

‘C’ Curve, 2 Pole, 6kA, 10A MCB

‘C’ Curve, 2 Pole, 6kA, 6A MCB

Thanks...

Oops thought you had had enough and were thinking of scrapping might be worth a title change

Type B rcd its used in places where you have micro generation: solar, generator etc. So I would stick to type B.
C curve its Ok for general use.
Type A does not pick DC leakege, only intermitent/ plulse DC.
Both detect the AC.

Hi Raul,

Are you saying that I should be looking for;
2 Pole, C Curve, B Type, 32A RCBO
And
2 Pole, C Curve, B Type, 16A RCBO.

What about the MCB's?

Personally I would recommend the b curve breakers, the c type are generally for commercial installations where you get high inrush starting currents on a lot of circuits.

Thanks Brianmor,

I think that the confusion was between "Curve" and "Type" as the RCBO has both listed.

Am I right with
2 Pole, B Curve, A Type, 32A RCBO
And
2 Pole, B Curve, A Type, 16A RCBO.

Thanks for your help.

When I was in the game, curve and type were the same thing ie b curve was a type b

No mate I meant TYPE B rcd or rcbo
Breaking Curve B is more domestic and more rapid, C as Brianmor said it takes a bit of surge before breaking. Both choices of curve breaking will protect you. The rcd TYPE B is the one to go for, it does DC linear not just pulses, regardless of curve choice.
First choose the type B, then choose your desired curve, B or C.

Thanks Raul,

So, I need to find RCBO's that are TYPE B and
Breaking Curve B, would these be suitable for the motorhome?

Also, would the MCB's also be Breaking Curve B?

All double pole!!!

Yes that would be a good choice.
