Like many on here, I cross over the channel 4 or 5 times a year and have enjoyed, in the main, the smooth, quiet roads and most importantly the ability to stop overnight using the extensive system of aires. The problem is, over recent years I have become fed up of over crowded aires where you can hear next door farting and arguing, those that are no more than a dusty potholed car park, those at the side of an industrial estate and those with disgusting dirty unhygienic water and black waste disposal. I want better than that while I'm away, Camping car park sites have alleviated some of the problems, however, just wondering if there is a app/book/list of 'select' aires, plus other countries equivalent (don't mind what they cost) out there?

On the CamperContact app (small annual charge), you can filter results and select only those with high ratings. This helps take out the worst ones. It took my search in Brittany region down from 121 to 57.
Never seen what your looking for , as you say campingcarpark are better than the norm as are Aireparks .
