Since 2007 on and off
My door opens and closes easily, not sticking at all.
Problem is with the fly screen that sits on the same hinges. It will not budge, not even a bit.
I've tried plusgas, WD40, 3in1 oil etc but it is still stuck.
Don't want to force it, obviously
I read somewhere that the only fix is to take the door off and ream the hinge pin holes.
Has anybody done this or found a different solution?
Thanks

Good idea, I'll give it a go tomorrow. If I have any success do you think should I lube them with 3 in 1 oil? Do you know if the pins just knock out?

As already said ..... Silicon spray or PTFE.
Once free maybe graphite powder worked into the hinge.

Regular oil and maintenance sprays will make the nylon bushings swell

Can I ask: how old is the van? And is it new to you?
Lastly, is there a catch that holds the two panels together?
I must say I’m confused by this!

The van is 2012 Elddis Sunseeker 140. I got it one week ago. The fly screen is attached to the door with a push in catch. I'm confused as well haha. It's in for vehicle service today but I will take more pictures when it is back home. Thanks.

3 Pictures. 1 is screen door closed and clipped to door. 2 is clip that fastens fly screen to door (when it is not seized). 3 is screen unclipped from door and open.

I'm not quite following this, in the first pic with the door open, the hinges for the fly screen must work or you wouldn't be able to open the door, you sure there isn't a catch hidden away somewhere ?
In your picture, hinge X is for the screen and hinge Y is for the door, but they both appear to pivot on the same pin which makes me think there has to be a hidden catch or snag ? 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully the dealer can sort it out without having to dismantle everything and drilling out those rivets ?

My sister had the same problem when she bought her, funnily enough 2012 Elddis, motorhome last year.
She managed to snap one of the hinges trying to get the fly screen open as the pin was seized.
I replaced all the hinges for her with new.
Easy enough job.
Cost about £90 for a set of hinges iirc and there is only one place you can get them from.

I released the catch holding them together. I think X is the one that is seized and will not rotate on its own. I'll keep you informed of my progress, is any haha

Thanks. Can you remember where you bought the hinges? My Google search can't find them.

Remembering back it was only the one hinge I replaced, which was about £90, as the other hinges were fine.
You do need a reasonable quality rivet gun for the job which luckily I have as my sisters partners rivet gun wasn't up to the job.
I lubricated the new hinge, as well as the existing hinges, liberally with silicone spray.

I haven't got a clue to be honest. My thoughts are that X is zeized to the pin

Billsunhinged59@outlook.com sells them £90 each, like you said (y)

The pin moves in the 3 hinges that are attached to the door but is seized in the 2 hinges attached to the fly screen.
So instead of the door and screen hinges being able to move independently of each other they move as one allowing the door to open and close freely but the screen is seized against the door.
It's just caused by lack of use of the screen.

Hit the nail on the head. Thanks
