Just thought I'd share a graph of tommorrows wholesale prices (avaialble to Octopus domestic customers via Agile (on which they are still making profit btw)).

Most of day up to 4pm is ... unde 5p a unit. Great for those of us with EV's or want to charge stuff. But it's also usually this cheap when the grid is super clean burning no gas, so if you have any washing/drying to do and not even on Octopus Agile, tommorow is the day to do it, as it likely will be better for the environment than near any time this year. Oh yes, and they are paying you to take electric some half hour slots too due to too much on grid.

Very interesting but unfortunately I just pay a flat rate, no option to use off-peak tarrifs 😕

If you in a UKPN network and on Octopus, some areas they are giving you free electric for some slots tommorow regardless of tariff if you on their power-up trial. https://octopus.energy/power-ups/

Non-flat rates at moment are actually quite amazing, most people on the Octopus Tracker or Agile I know are paying sub 20p a unit average.

The price has gone negative (paying me to take electricity from the grid) on and off over the past few days.
I'm topping up our battery at less than a penny a kWh for a couple of periods this evening and then dumping it back to the grid at 15 pence a kWk from our battery, ready to top the battery up again at 23.30 when they will pay me 3.3 pence a kWk to take from the grid.
A big washing and cooking day tomorrow while the prices are low. (y)

This is the website I use to see the Octopus Agile today and tomorrow pricing.
You will need to select your graphical area for your pricing as the pricing is different in different areas.

Thanks Two on Tour
I shared the national average graph, though -> admittedly some areas it's even cheaper and didn't point that out.

At least there are some others with motorhomes playing the electricity market like us. We don't have the battery yet, but do have the IO dynamic tariff which means we pay pretty much 7.5p flat anytime car on charge, and we have a costco run tommorow so the car will be on lots given we have a 200 mi total trip to get to/from costco (as we'll get there for opening time and be gone before it gets busy). But we'll be using lots of energy tmrw and batch cooking as it's a good day to do so as I suspect the gas percentage will go to near nil.

Most of our friends without EV's are on Agile at moment and loving it this year given they paying on average well below the price cap, more negative periods than last year, and about on par with 2019-20 period for negative/cheap periods.

Plan for next year is to add some solar/battery to the house..
