Hi guys, I’ve just purchased a Honda msx grom to go into the garage of my new grand alpa plus. Can you please advise the best way of securing it in there for safe transport? I’m very tight on height in there so (40mm clearance) so cannot lift bike of the deck too much!

thanks for your help in advance!

You need some good tie down points through the floor and then run the front wheel into a rock n roll front wheel chock if you have the height, I think 40mm will be OK.

Check when you buy the wheel chock that it is suitable for your tyre size, some only work for a 16" front wheel or bigger

Also, if height at the front is a problem, then you could wheel it in backwards and push the back wheel into the wheel chock

Hope your new toy gives you years & years of fun🙂

I use this cross-braced handlebar strap connected to ratchet straps to floor anchor point. That and a rock and roll frontwheel clamp is probably all you need.

If it is the door size you are working off against the given height of the bike then 40 mm is shed loads as you will gain another 20 mm at the lip at the bottom and possibly another 40 mm at the top.

The ramp we got from ebay for just over 40 nicker and use 2 ratchet straps.

I have also just learnt that I can manouvre the back of of the bike to one side and I can get 2 ebikes into the garage with the motorbike, using an extra floor anchor point

Thanks for the replies so far guys! The opening is 1000 exactly and the inside floor to roof height is 1050, I have a sheet metal business so am thinking of fabricating something that captures both ends maybe

Something like this.

Made up a plywood base plate the exact width of the garage for our scoot so sideways movement not possible, secured with cam lock straps (ratchet straps enthusiastically tightened can pull the eye bolts out of the aluminium tracks. Nothing has moved in several thousand miles travelling abroad even not seeing and hitting one of the infamous Spanish speed humps at 50kmh.

It’s actually quite good fun, slow but good to ride, I’ve always had 1000cc bike before so it’s a bit different 😂😂
