Seat removal

Hi all, I have a 2016 Chausson Welcome on a Fiat Ducato and have found a local upholsterer to remake the existing driver and passenger seat covers as they have stretched. I have removed the plastic moulding from the seats and located the six bolts to remove the seats, although there are two wires coming from under the seat, one an earth and the second going to the seat belt buckle. Do I remove the small switch or at the connector at the other side of the seat, and could it cause any electrical problems upon refitting them? Thanks in advance

Disconnect the connector but if you operate the ignition whilst disconnected you will get a warning light on the dash. Mine reset itself after 5-6 cycles of the ignition. Much to my relief. I’d assume that is standard but don’t know.

Are you sure you need to remove the seats? Certainly on our 2019 Fiat base van both the coach fitters [ Sunlight] and the base vehicle seat covers below that can be removed without removal, I did them back in the Autumn ready for next season. It's a tad fiddly, but I managed even with my arthritic fingers.Cool wash and cool tumble, they came up spotless.

Yes do need to remove as they’re all stretched and need the services of the upholsterer to cut and refit. He works from home and can’t get my camper close to his workshop
