Hi folks,
I’m getting back into the motorhoming life after a break of 7 or so years and just need to find a van.
I think I know what I want spec wise, unfortunately it just doesn’t seem to exist!
  • 2 berth
  • Ideally 6m long, possibly up to 7m if everything else was perfect but I really want a short van!
  • Short rear overhang
  • Automatic
  • Drop down bed (no fixed beds)
  • Good size lounge
  • Decent storage
  • Good quality build
  • Under 3 years old, or new
  • ‘A’ class or coach built
I used to own a Rapido A class - 9010DF which pretty much fit the bill but any on the market now would be getting very old.
The Frankia FF4 looked like a really clever design, but again any on the market would be too old.
I have looked at a Wingamm Oasi 610 which seems to fit the bill but, on deeper digging, the brand appears to have some issues with its construction methods which has put me off.
Do any manufacturers make such a van? It doesn’t seem like a particularly crazy set of requirements but I’m drawing a blank.
Hope someone can help 😁
Many thanks

Thanks for the super quick responses 😁
  • The Pilote is just over 7m and I’m really keen to be much nearer 6m if possible
  • I’ve looked at the Carthago range and I think they all come with fixed beds which I don’t want. I should have listed that in the original post!

There's a couple of similar layout A class:
Pegaso 590
Geist 585 (I think?)

Small garage though.

Not auto but close enough?
There might be others around

We've had one on order for a good while as lounge with reasonable garage worked perfectly for us

Both of those two look like strong possibilities. Would need to look at storage but thanks for the suggestions!

Burstner Lyseo Td689G (only because we have one). Meets all your needs except a tad under 7mt. Large rear garage, drop down bed over bench seats opposing each other in loung. 9 speed auto which is a delight to drive. 2 berth. Bed is really comfortable and amazingly big! Ours is only a year old and is coachbuilt. Not sure if how big the overhang is but probably a little over a metre? Quality is good

Thanks to everyone for all the replies!
Lots of useful info there and a few makes & models I wasn’t aware of. More research to do on my part 😁
I’m sure I’ll be back with more questions!
