Its a great resource Search for sites but what I find frustrating is you cannot easily copy the coordinates.

If you look at the screen shot below you cant simply copy and paste the GPS Coordinates. A little red no entry sign comes up. The work around is to highlight the word location, drag down to below the coordinates, then copy and paste that into Word and then the coordinates appear and then you can copy and paste them into google maps. Most frustrating.

Anyone found a fix for this or a better site for looking for stopovers in Europe?

On mine I just click on the copy button.

A little lower down it says navigation options, click on that and choose the navigation app you wish to use and the coordinates will be passed to the app automatically.

Thanks but I am guessing you are both using the phone apps. I'm using the website on a laptop. I really don't like using apps if I can avoid it when trip planning at home. I don't have any of those options.

If you're using the website on a laptop where did you want to paste the coordinates? If you're creating a document to print off you could always type them in using alt - tab to switch between the website and your document to check you've typed them correctly.

Edit: using the website on my tablet allows the the use of navigation options as does the app.

I just want to copy and paste them straight into Google Maps. What I tend to do is build up a folder full of PDFs for the various locations we might stop over on the trip. I like to view them in google maps first though to look at streetview etc. I do all my planning in the back of the van on a laptop as well. I find a phone so restrictive in comparison. I expect its deliberate to steer people to the App. I have no problem paying for it but I just want to use it on a Laptop.

You just click on the Google Map icon on the map & it opens in Google maps.

Brilliant!!! Thank you.

Over 40 years in tech and I couldnt figure that out. So bloody obvious now you mention it. In some respects it makes it daft that you can't copy the coordinates though from the page as you can as soon as it opens in google maps!

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!!!

Yeah I'm a big planner. I think I got it from my father (Headmaster) and he planned all our trips and school trips meticulously including our first trip to Europe when I was 15 over the summer holidays. A lot harder then I would imagine as well.

We have just got back from a trip to Portugal, the only planning we did was booking the ferry to Dieppe.
Wasn't even planning on going to Portugal.
Makes a much more interesting trip.

We will go off piste of course and the plans are never rigidly stuck to. I think our style of touring is a bit different as I am not one for moving on every day or every other day. Its more about exploring on the bike for us so we will often stay in one place for a week or three. I like to have an idea of where we are staying. Doesn't matter so much for one night. Next years trip will be a mixture of old and new so a lot of the places we will head to we will have been to before.
