I look at the counter top in the kitchen of the moho and do not see any sealant at all between the top and the wall of the van or the lounge seating. This makes me think that the water that inevitably splashes around while washing dishes could creep down the gap and eventually cause problems with damp. The same in the bathroom where the wash basin is. Is this normal in our very expensive vans? Do you guys/girls add sealant yourselves, for example silicone?

We had this on the eura mobile and after 12 months they had to replace the whole worktop, funnily enough it was properly sealed on the replacement.

Our kitchen worktops have been sealed at the van walls, but our bathroom washbasin was not, so I gave it a good clean up, masked off a 3 or 4mm at the back and sides of the basin and the same width on the wall to get a neat finish and then applied clear BT1 sealant, a quick run across the sealant with a wet finger and immediately removed the masking tape before the sealant got a grab of it and spoiled the neat line.

We have a pre-formed clear silicone strip which fits between the vertical face and the worktop and has a quadrant shape running out about 6mm onto the surface. The same in the bathroom behind the wash basin. The shower tray is sealed with a fillet of silicone applied by hand.

I had a panic when we found water in the bowls in our under-sink cupboard, thinking we had (another) leaky pipe - but it turned out to just be water from washing up etc coming through between the sink and worktop.

Ours now has a bead of clear silicone all around the sink and cooker, and our plates/bowls have been dry ever since!

(Yeah… I may be an ‘over enthusiastic’ washer-upperer…) 🌊

Our last Elddis didn't have sealant at the back of the bathroom sink shelf. Water ran down the gap and produced black stains down the wall. The dealer took the shelf out, cleaned it up and ran a bead of sealant along it. The new Elddis was just the same so we had the dealer seal it before we picked it up. Can't understand why this isn't done at the manufacturing stage, surely they can't be hard up for a tube of silicone.
