hello,

I have recently joined this website. Does anyone organise meeting in Scotland - preferably west coast.
I am planning some time away next year and it would be great if there was anything organised that I could join.
thanks

I don't know of any.

There is a new motorhome aire at Ardfern close to where Princes Anne keeps her Yacht, walking distance to a pub I believe it has full facilities for about 12, Its just over the hill from home so, if their is interest I could no doubt arrange something.

We love Scotlandshire, go for it, if we can we will. :D

First, what time of year would be best for those who are interested?

Anytime after the end April would be good for us as were overwintering in Spain

Theres two northern meets in England in June so how about July, its one of our best months. Count us in.

When are the midges out? They are a complete pain in the arse ....................... And a lot of other places too :D

Ok, I will work out when we are not going to be here and speak to the owner then see what we can arrange, as far as midges go, they are rarely a problem around Loch Craignish

We hope to be in Scotland in June.

Just your donald duck with the midges depending on the weather. When up the west coast we have a midge facemask, use avon skin so soft and light fires at night. Only my mum seems to suffer badly.

We are ex bikers and had to stop every few miles as it looked like ethnic cleansing on our visors  And when we stopped for the night couldn't sit out for fear of being eaten alive. :(

Gosh might persuade hubby to give it a go as it's in a area we know and love, we have a cabin nearby. May would be good month but apart from week in June we're easy.

Keen to attend if dates fit in, but am wary of the dreaded midge as they eat my sister. For this reason we don't normally holiday in Scotland between mid April and end of August, but do love the country, especially in Septmber.

Never done Scotland - planning on heading there via the lakes after the Southport rally in mid June as have the rest of the month off! Defo up for it.

We would be up for it, May or October are generally relatively midge free, once you get into June and beyond the bxxgers are out

We also would love to come on the meet.

Kate

I think it's a great idea and don't want to step on anyone's toes, I have been toying with the idea of arranging a meet in Dumfries, there is a field next to the local rugby club that the CC use for rallies so that shouldn't be a problem.
I had thought of looking into the weekend of Guid Nychburris normally middle - end June, when we have a week of activities leading up to the Saturday where they have the crowning of the queen and ride outs on horses to all the historic tolls around the town to fend of the enemy. Then on the Saturday evening there is a large parade with loads of lorries dressed up. Here is the web page not sure if it's still live as its for 2014
http://www.guidnychburris.co.uk. There are loads of other events on through out the day from football tournaments to dance displays from local youngsters.
So if people where interested then I could find out details the field would take over 50 vans although on grass has roads All the way round. It is next to the local rugby club that has a bar so could speak to them, if not it's only a 10- 15 min easy walk into the town Center to see all the activities although the horses do ride past at 7 am ish
As I said hope the op doesn't think im taking over just a suggestion.
