Hi all

Have any of you done the west coast of Scotland lately up above Fort William to the top by Sango sands campsite and wild camped some of the time.
We have not been up there for 3 years and are thinking of going again early March BUT i have read so many horror stories.
We are looking to stay on sites every third night to fill with water and empty toilet etc. The other 2 nights in between we would like to wildcamp but away from towns and in isolated areas so no to disturb the locals.
We always take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints, so the question remains is it viable to do this trip or are the locals very hostile to Motorhomes as i have read.

Ignore the horror stories. Locals have not been hostile; it's social media fantasy.
Where we have been 'bothered' by tourists over the past couple of years is when there have been blatant breaches of covid restrictions.
You will be made welcome and any trade you can bring to local communities appreciated.

The media is much to blame for spreading bullshit all over the place.
When we have been we have always encountered courteous locals.
The stories are mostly fabricated to sell their newspapers etc.
Go and enjoy your selves.
Phil

Agree with previous posts on "attitudes".
You might struggle a little bit to find a lot of campsites open in early March so perhaps a bit of research prior to travel might be appropriate.

We’re going to do that route south from Tongue in August after a wedding there. Inverness up to Tongue pre wedding along the coast route too, presuming the van does come 😜 Did it in a Riley Elf 43 years ago on our honeymoon, coastal road from Annan all around to Edinburgh 😊

Lots of aires in Scotland now check out the Campra website

You may find some really wild camping weather wise going in March ?
Not that many sites will be open
