Hi all

We are planning to meet up with some friends from Northern Ireland when they come over in their moho. Early May.

They will arrive in Cairnryan and we would like a couple of sites between there and maybe Ayr.

Possibly getting up to Fort William. We have about 8 days to fill.

I'm googling sites but the main criteria are, close to or next to a beach/scenery, pub on site or very close by, restaurant ditto. Within a reasonable walk to a town for a wider range of catering.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Port Patrick is lovely and not to far from the ferry terminal, they have 3 campsites all next to each other. The one called sunny something is the cheapest but facilities are dated which isn’t a problem as we use our own, the other two have stunning views across to NI. It’s about 10min downhill walk to town which means it’s uphill on the way back but nothing to strenuous.
The Crown is our favourite pub there.

Should’ve added if you have 8 days why not discover D&G, we have some lovely places here and a lot quieter than heading north.

They want to get to Fort William or Mallaig if possible but that may be a stretch. So anywhere around D&G would do me.
By coincidence I was reading about Port Patrick when you posted. Looks very good.

++1 for Port Patrick and a couple of other possibles..... North Ledaig Caravan Site..affiliated to CMC and Bunree CMC 10 miles south of Fort William. Both these have lovely Loch views and some pretty walks from Bunree if that is your " thing "

It’s lovely and our go to place for a few weekends a year, you also have Port William which is a lot quieter but we love it, the site there “kings green” is right on the sea and the fact it’s community run with all profits going back to community is great, lovely wee cafe/bar at the harbour.
