To be fair, the 1314 defeat was largely due to a misunderstanding on the part of the English. They didn't realise that the Scots had adopted the 24 hour clock,thinking1314 must be the year. Come the Battle, and half of the English had buggered off to second lunch nearly 15 minutes earlier ...
