Scotland/ Highland council (not sure which) is currently considering introducing a 'tourist tax' which would mean a subsidy on beds including campsites. Lots of people have complained that this excludes a major user of facilities, ie tourers. So Highland have proposed this scheme.
Depending on how you tour, you may find it saves on car park fees. What's missing from the document is a link to Highlife Highland locations where you can also get free showers so I've added that at the bottom.
