Hi
Does anyone have or know if you can fit a scooter rack on an Alko chassis that already has the factory fit Alko/Sawiko tow bar fitted, or is it one or the other, would have to be the type with extender brackets to drop below the skirt
My thinking is that extender plates and chassis brackets on top of the tow bar bracket would probably place the brackets too wide for the rack
This is my existing set up

If you want a chassis mounted rack, ditch the towbar.
You could maybe get a ball mounted rack like a cycle rack but not sure if anyone makes one

We were able to fit a scooter rack and keep the tow bar. I had to modify the scooter rack slightly to widen the arms but the rack was secondhand so I would have had to modify it anyway.

Thanks for that , very helpful, were the brackets bought seperately or a part of the rack, im guessing you just altered the positioning of the mounting plate where the bike sits

Also my towbar has a nose weight of 150kg so would a tow bar mounted rack be suitable, scooter weight dependant

Brackets came with the rack but it came off an Alko chassis so I expected it to fit ours and the brackets bolted on without any modification.

My brother in law and another friend had a small motorbike trailer, for his camper, the towbar connection was blocked and the trailer had jockey wheels, so when you reversed, the wheels just span around to the right direction which made reversing very easy, it also ment that you did not have all the weight on the back of the van, I dont think it was cheap, but both of them found it very good.

I am not sure if this is the one they had, but same principle.
