Schonek mudflaps

One of our Schonek mudflaps has torn off in Portugal. I thought to just cut it down and screw back in but they are riveted on to a bracket that is then screwed in.

Obviously I can’t resolve this here but I wondered if anyone else has had this issue? Did you just drill the rivets out and replace with a new one bolted on, or did you have to buy the whole thing with the bracket (which would be easily removed. Seems a poor design or a clever money making scheme.

I just got some generic ones and made them fit, they were easily cut.

Hardest bit was having to take the wheel off.

Thanks, fortunately I won’t have to take the wheel off. But I thought the same drill out the rivets and put generic ones on.
