They are not insurers but intermediaries and are not directly regulated by anyone. They are 'associated with Atlanta Intermediaries who are at least registered with the FIA. Scenic state that they 'work with a selection (or panel forget which) of insurers to provide cover'. So basically, I would say they are insurance brokers, cos they are NOT an insurance company.
So very many people would say their motorbike was insured with eg. Carol Nash, or Bennetts. Oh no they weren't, they were insured with whoever it was that underwrote the schemes that Carol Nash or Bennetts, had arranged. Amazing what special premium deals can be negotiated with large household name insurers, when someone can promise them X hundred/thousand/hundred thousand (ad infinitum) customers !
We had our first IH insured for a year with Scenic. It was that brief spell when IH sold new vans through dealers. We bought through Nick Whale who’d only just started doing motorhomes. They screwed up. We’d paid for an alarm. On collection day I asked for the alarm details. Whoops we forgot.
Panic stations in the office phoning round trying to get insurance . Comfort no longer interested, Safeguard put us through to their sister office Scenic.
All worked out fine as we ended up at Vanbitz.
Must be 10 years ago. Nick Whale doing lots of vans now but IH wisely went back to selling just from the factory.
