In Luxembourg now and haven’t changed any settings but out satelittle dish not locking on to signal . I’m sure that south is where our satelitte always points and I can see any obstructions

any ideas ?

If you're trying to access Astra 2 UK programmes, it's because you're outside the satellite footprint see this map.

Not sure what system you have, ours is oyster and if we travel far between uses it can struggle. Our fix is to search for Astra 1 first then it knows it’s own location, assuming you’re not under a tree or similar 😂

Doesn’t matter about getting a picture just as soon as it licks on change to 2 and press go or search

Got a lock onto Astra 1 but still didn’t get Astra 2 but thanks for the suggestion , not overly keen on adjusting the skew (and I don’t have my ladder) so maybe a book or streaming instead ;-)

I used to manually rotate (and tilt) mine so that I could reach it through the sky light.😎

Does it perhaps need an update, I can update my system using an app on my phone.

Are you trying to lock on to the Astra 2 spot beam (aka Astra North) if so can you change to the European beam (aka Astra South). Our system (Alden) has both programmed and is selectable on start up.

According to Maxview I need software update because of changes to Astra, or our system won't lock on.

It’s not on my list of satelittes so don’t think so . Ours is a maxview system

Answer from Maxview support

Good Morning,

If you have a Seeker, Target or Connect system, the transponder went down for Astra 2 on Monday so we had to release a software updates for these systems, please see link below for the software update page where you can download the relevant update for your system onto a USB stick no larger than 30gb stick, the instructions on how to update your system is on the same page. If you have a SkyQ system please let me know what system you have and I will send you the correct update file for SkyQ update.
