Looking for a decent sat nav for home and abroad.
What’s peoples recommendation, have had a snooper before and it was totally rubbish never worked properly.
Any suggestions would be very hopeful.😁

Google Maps on an 8 inch Lenovo Tablet .. (£89.99 from Argos).. it has GPS built in .. and tethered to iPhone for data ..

you can use without tethering by downloading the Google map for the area you are going ..

or upload any other navigation app of your choice .. such as Here We Go . which does not need data as you can download the maps for whatever counties you are visiting ..

Windscreen mount with magnetic holder.

We use Tom Tom Camper; never had a problem.

I believe that it’s now available on their App.

I have been trying, herewego maps .
I had a tablet off my son for my birthday and I was going to copy scotjimland and use my phone and Bluetooth Google maps on to the tablet.
But looking through the apps on this tablet I found herewego maps free ,no adverts but most importantly works offline if you have GPS in your tablet.
When I was driving vans I used to use this on the old Nokia phones and always thought it was ok but subsequently Google maps came along and I converted to them.
But this last fortnight I have been using herewego here and in France and can't fault it. Completely offline, uses no data and it has took us to places faultlessly that we did and didn't know the way to.
At the moment I am still trying it so can't say it's the one to use but I honestly can't fault it.
If anyone would like to try it out, completely free this is it in playstore.

I have used copilot for the past few years on a tablet, been fine for me.
Just get the caravan/ truck version so you can put dimensions and weight in.

No. Its just an out and out sat nav just tells you the way , fastest or shortest also tells you your speed and the limits Completely free no adverts no data.
BUT, if you hot spot it to your phone and go on line its got pretty much the same as Google maps.

To save your fingers a lot of walking I have just looked through for the 'best' sat nav currently on the market designed for motorhome use.
(Size/weight limits, average speed settings, campsites marked on maps etc)

Today the 'best' one is the "Avtex Tourer Three Plus" Sat Nav with Dash Cam.
It is also sold as the "Garmin 795" (with dash cam)
Also branded as the "Camper Cam 795"

To get the live traffic updates you need a modern smart phone (iPhone or Android as you need to download the associated app)

I just paid £450 from a dealer.
They are available for £475 for members of the C&MHC
And for £499 from multiple sources under either brand name.

Be aware there are outlets, such as Halfrauds, selling them for around £360, but that does not include the dash cam.
It also does not include the windscreen stick on mount (extra £10), or the cables!
I suspect it also does not include the up to date maps or the C&MHC campsites

I last updated my Garmin Oct 2022. Twice on this holiday it has taken us wrong, lastly this morning leaving Gelves, Seville for Ronda, it directed us to the SE-40 which has not been built yet. We had to use google maps to put us right. I wouldn’t be without google maps now as a more accurate picture of what is actually the current position on the ground.

Cheap basic Garmin for use abroad and Apple/Android auto through the head unit in the UK.
Have no faith whatsoever in supposed Motorhome sat navs, expensive gimmicks.

We have a Garmin Avtex tourer 3. Got it from CAMC. Used it here and in France, Belgium and Spain. All good.

I use Sygic and Roadlords on a Lenovo tablet on a dashboard suction mount, tethered to my phone. Both allow you to enter vehicle dimensions. Road Lords is free.
