Just looking
Hi everyone.
I have recently connected up my charger to a battery the wrong way round ( reverse polaruty).
Heard a zzzzz sound. Have I blown an internal fuse?
The user manual says it has reverse polarity protection but doesn't say what form it takes.
Any ideas pkease.

Reverse polarity protection would normally be on the 240v Input, not the 12v side.

Most chargers are going to be sealed so an internal fuse, if present, may not be accessible, plus there could be high voltage remaining. If it doesn't work when wired correctly, you'll need to get very careful opening up and may be better sending somewhere for a orofessional repair.

Other way round 240v is ac doesn't matter which way it's connected.

Try leaving it for a while it may reset. If it doesn't work when reconnected correctly have a look for an internal fuse, if none it's probably fried.

Hence if mains is AC so could work either way it can work reversed for the continental 2 pin sockets we know can be either way?

On the Apuljack Electronics site, there is a picture of the PX300, an outside view and an inside view. Looking at the inside view, there seems to be a small glass fuse in the top left - I guess that's for the 240V input protection. On the right, it looks like there is a big 12V fuse (Maxi size) but I can't see if it's slotted in a holder or soldered to the board.

You'll need a replacement for one or both of those fuses. Apuljack Electronics have a repair service, and I'm sure they would be able to do this easily if you are unsure about doing this yourself. If you want to try DIY, make sure you disconnect both the 240V mains and the 12V power before you start to take off the covers.

Have a!ready opened up. 240v fuse is ok. The 12v 15 A blade fuse has popped its clogs. Got none, Will get a fuse kit off ebay.
Thanks again😀
