Good morning all,
Well picked up new MH yesterday and was wondering how long it would be before my first question.stayed in it last night and all of a sudden got battery warning low and everything shut down. On EHU so was very surprised at this. After further investigation this morning solor panal charging but checking the battery charger side it looks like it's not. No lightning bolt on control panel next to the battery and on the power control system under the seat there is no green light below the 25amp fuse and according to Google there should be. Checked all the fuses I could find and just wondering if anyone has any ideas to the problem.
Will call the dealership when they are open but wondering if it's a simple fix.

Many thanks

Hi,
On mine, the control panel has battery monitors without mains present, mimics status of both batteries, and other services. It shows a green light when mains on. Is yours similar ( mine is 15yo)btw

Thanks, looking into the manual it says a lightning ⚡ should be present when the leasure battery is being charged normally at the top of the screen but I've got nothing only the solar panel is working.just waiting on dealer calling me back.

Maybe a silly question, but have you switched the charger on? I never switch mine on, even if we are on EHU, and batteries just charge via Solar and B2B.

The charger is switched on on the Sargent control panel by way of the green light

Thanks

Hi,
OK, let's hope they have an answer. Have you checked all connections including polarities, I know its difficult to test mains polarity without a tester but some charging systems are sensitive mains polarity, just a thought..

They all look good, pulled them off and re seated but still nothing, yep let's hope they have the answer

Cheers

Hi, it's difficult, as an electrician I know what I would do, but I can't tell you, if you had an accident through my advice, well you can guess the rest.

My Sargent system only shows the lightning sign on the control panel when the charger switch is switched on at the PSU ( That is with a EC 462 control panel and a EC460 PSU system ). But your Sargent system may be a different type/model number which may not be the same.

After removing the sergeant box to check the power supply underneath I've noticed a plug not connected to anything that showed signs of burning looking on the back of fuse 1 the 25a charger fuse this also shows signs of burning.looks like it's been like it for a while but what is really annoying is the van had a full check and is only two years old.

Hi Bodoge, sparki myself and I know exactly what you mean. If it was an old van I would but only picked it up yesterday and don't want to give them any excuse not to fix it.

If a plug shows signs of burning then that's a sign that there is some resistance in the contacts, causing power to be dissipated in the resistance instead of in the charger. To be sure, the dealer should cut off the connectors and re-make with new connectors.

The burning at the fuse contacts is more problematic, but as a first try they should clean up the contacts, make sure they are squeezed together, and fit a new fuse. Then you should keep an eye on it to check it's not starting to burn again. If it does, there may be an internal bad connection that needs the fusebox taking out and repairing properly.

Same here, first trip, microwave not working, couldn't find an isolation anywhere so removed panel above it, 4 x 3.5 inch screws, there it was, not even plugged in, like a good sparky, cut in a fast fix box and a fused switch spur now controls it, its not rocket science. Vehicle check said it was seen working. Not worth the paper it's written on. Anyway, happy camping.

Dealer just got back to me said that's not good lol.now they are talking to swift to get it sorted, hopefully this week fingers crossed.ill let you know the results and thanks to everyone for their help.

Cheers
