I need to know how to remove the main circuit breaker from the bus bar.
Yesterday it started crackling but would work if 'waggled'. Now it doesn't. Mains is coming into the box.
Can it be removed and changed without having to take the whole thing out?
It is a Siemens. See photos.

Just insert a screwdriver in the tab at the bottom and pull it downwards and lift the breaker off the rail.

I do have to ask are you cabable of changing the breaker safely if you don't know how to remove a standard breaker.?

Thanks. Yes quite savvy with electrics. I was just unsure of how it removed, either by tag or screwdriver. Thanks

Just double-checking that you know. You do appreciate that it's a Residual Current Device (RCD) that's acting as a main circuit breaker too. So it's required for electric shock protection. In other words when you replace it don't just put in a main switch, it has to be an RCD with a 30mA trip threshold, and a test button.

Yes understand that. Got one yesterday from Toolstation exactly the same just a different name. 40a 30ma. Fitted in less than 10 minutes. All working good now. Thanks.
