Safeguard Green Card

Off to France mid May so rang Safeguard Friday morning to check current policy on green cards. Response from the pleasant young lady was that you’ll probably not need it but we’ll send you one in case. It arrived in the post this morning. Done and dusted in 24 hours. I’m impressed

Could you please tell us what organisation is confirming the insurance - Safeguard or the Underwriters?

Also what dates they put on it.

It is valid from the day I start my trip in May until 12 August, the day my current policy expires and is issued by Allianz, Safeguard underwriters, under the authority of the Motor Insurers Bureau

When I phoned safeguard last week the guy said you don't need one. Reason is parliament have agreed we can't leave without a deal, and if we leave with a deal then nothing changes. However he said it might change in October if the EU refuse a further extension.
