Good afternoon all. :)

In case it's not been highlighted before, as per the title, Safefill cylinders are not welcome at Flogas for refilling.

It doesn't affect us personally, but I saw the notice whilst topping up at the P/boro Depot today.
When chatting with the attendant at the reception, he said that they (Flogas collectively) had had problems with folks refilling Safefill cylinders, so it's no longer permitted.
I couldn't engage further, as I had to go and move the MH, to let someone else on the pump.

HTH,

Jock. :)

looks like it's a damp squib JockandRita ..

better luck next time ...

If all the depots are the same. That's going to make things a little harder for safefill owners. I wonder if they roll directives out like that to the resellers. Our local garage uses a Flogas tank, and as there are a zillion caravans within a few square miles, I often see people filling safefill bottles.

Main flogas depot in stalham norfolk, has had a sign up saying no safefill for over 2 years.

How can it be a damp squib Jim, if another Funster has confirmed the same restriction at another Flogas Depot?

I am not prepared to give out the local phone number for the P/boro Depot, as that was given to us as regular customers, but if anyone wishes to query the ruling regarding Safefill cylinders, they are welcome to on 0800 574574, or on info@flogas.co.uk

Cheers

Jock.

Personally, I doubt that Jim, as the reseller is responsible for public safety on their own sites, not Flogas.

With your popcorn emoji Jim, do you think I've disturbed a hornets nest then? ;)
I was replying to this comment .. about the hornets nest being a damp squib

I thought we were having a bit of a banter.. just fun...... wasn't a criticism ..

sorry if you thought it was..

I get you now Jim.
I wasn't out to wind anyone up, just trying to be informative.

Cheers for now. 👍

Just filled our Safefill cylinder (all of £8 odds) at one of FloGas's major third party distributors in Glasgow. (y)

I thought safefill only ever had an agreement with Morrisons for filling ? I guess it's a chance you take if you buy a safefill bottle.

Hi Jock, Can Anyone use Flogas ,or do you need an account?

Hi Jo662

When we have been on holiday in the area we have been in the Flogas depot near Stalham a couple of times to refill our Gaslow bottle. We don't have an account as there is no Flogas facility where we live. Just drove in and parked up. Went in the office and someone came out to help us.

No, no account needed..........unless you want to use one of their unmanned Autogas Key sites, many of which were operated by Countrywide some years ago.

Unfortunately our CW account didn't automatically transfer across to Flogas. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I joined Countrywide years ago, when I joined there was around 40 sites, just changed over Flogas as I haven't used it in years, the booklet now shows 5.
Hardly worth the effort.

Yes, a CW account was really handy to have, as it gave you so many more location to top up from.

Thanks for the update Olley. I shan't bother even asking about a Flogas account. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Our local Morrisons stiil have LPG,but with all the rumours that the new owners are going to withdraw them{hopefully only rumours} it’s nice to know there is somewhere fairly local to use.

You won't get one jock unless you already have key, there not issuing new ones.
I don't think they have any interest in running or expanding the key sites.
Gave me a rate of .62 as well.

In your locality there is a choice of 3 x locations.

Obviously Flogas P/boro would be handy, if coming off the A1/A605/A47.

I understood the situation to be, that only those Morrisons forecourts operated by MFG, were the ones to withdraw Autogas.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

So hope the one nearest me keeps the LPG pump then 🤞
So was the one in Downham in your map an dependant or a Morrisons?

SafeFill & Flogas - customer was caught filling a "SafeFill bottle yes mate" through the rear window of a car and the bottle on another person's lap!

And it didn't shut off because it was an ordinary calor bottle and there was a rapid short escape of gas INSIDE the car.
Could have easily suffocated him or worse if a spark etc...

Peterborough Flogas has had the sign up a few months now and told me an order was badly communicated from head office quite a long time ago and some depot thought it was ok if staff filled them. Sounds a bit shoddy doesn't it but they are adamant no SafeFill at their site any more.

And for anyone wanting to use the Flogas Peterborough depot they don't open weekends and longer vehicles have to drive in hard right and reverse hard left to access pump. We are 34 feet long and manage okay.

Jev, I used to pull up alongside the wall on the left, whereupon Rita would hand me the nozzle through the wrought iron gate and operate the button for me.
They then removed the gate and filled the gap with breeze blocks and cement. When I asked why, they told me that several people had driven over the longer hose  so they shortened it, hence the removal.of that access. :(

I take things very cautiously when maneuvering on to the pump, so it must be really tight for you. :whatthe:

We are quite lucky in the PE1 - PE6 area for Autogas outlets. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Called in at the Wisbech Morrison garage the other day to top up my car with diesel and the lpg pump was coned off. The lit up display sign on the verge was still displaying the price for lpg so could be that they were temporarily out of gas.

Filled up with LPG at Morrisons St Ives near Huntingdon Sunday 84.9 ltr
