I’m a newbie
I live in Guernsey Channel Islands and will be returning from Ireland to Cherbourg end of July. End of August I go to the Carthago meet in Holland and rather than two ferry costs thinking to leave my campervan either Cherbourg or St Malo area for one month. Can anyone recommend a safe place, storage or campsite in either area please. Like to leave my dehumidifier on so would also like electric if possible. Thanks

Don’t want to put a dampener on this idea but wish to point out in case you hadn’t thought of this that it will be uninsured. I have tried and researched storing my Motorhome in France as a Jersey resident and no insurer covers this.

Thanks for your comments. I’m sure you will be right. Just wanted to leave it for one month on-site rather than storage to save incurring two lots of ferry fees

The issue is that you are abandoning it. It matters not whether it’s on a campsite or in storage.

Insurers expect that when the vehicle is not at its home storage location it is in use (i.e. that you are with it).

If you’re able to identify a suitable location and are happy to accept that it will be uninsured, then go ahead and leave it.

In the small print of the insurance is usually a clause to state the vehicle cannot be left unattended for more than 36/48 hours unless its at the specificed storage or home location.
That said i have left mine in Spain a few times on campsites and in storage facilities for up to 5 days while i flew home.
Bit of a gamble at the time. :whistle2:
