We are currently in Spain at Vera Playa. I bought a portable solar panel to use whilst away in winter to help the 400w roof mounted ones. Is a 200w renogy one that I connect to a victron mppt 75/15 controller using Anderson connector.

Yesterday I deployed it to test as I couldn't at home due to no sun where van is parked and as I was using the slow cooker. All worked fine and I saved my battery going down too much.

So today I've put it out again and am now running fridge off inverter so saving gas and still putting in 6a to battery so a saving of a quid or 2 of gas. I just need another 100 days of sun to pay for my investment 😀

It is interesting to see that your 400W and 200W panels are each producing the same amount. It highlights how beneficial it is to align panels to the sun.

Pretty nice figures for 200W portable vs 400W rooftop at the winter sun angles if I'm reading that right?

Yes it double the amount for half the panel but pointed at the sun.

Yes and better use of £££££ than more roof top solar.

Now putting over 10a into batteries, roof solar now getting more as sun gets higher but over 11a on portable panel is good.
