Route planning

We are soon starting to plan our 2 month trip, and are after some recommendations. We are planning to get the ferry from Barcelona to northern Italy. Then across to Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania. Then the ferry across to Southern Italy, up through Italy and the ferry back to Barcelona.
We are planning to go mid April for 2 months, we can stretch it out a bit longer if needed. Anyone got any recommendations of sites along the route and places to avoid.

Hi Mart, I’m guessing you’re starting from Barcelona? If you’re not wedded to the Ferry option I’d miss the ferry to Italy and just drive Perpignan Marseille Nice Milan avoiding Genoa- massively congested and poorly built roads. That route would give you a lot of sightseeing (and quite a few Campingcar Parks) and set you up for lake Garda before Triestee and Slovenia. Into Bari, I’d recommend Alborobello (area sosta in the town) and Matera (fantastic ex go kart track now a sosta there). Great sosta just below old town of Orvieto if you get that far

If you click the link there will be a number of places in Provence to check out if you do decide to drive it, less so for Italy but a number in Southern Austria
