Obviously I should have been aware of this but we are catching the Grimaldi ferry to Barcelona tonight. We are a 2011 registered camper on Portuguese plates which a Euro 5 Fiat Ducato base. Ferry is set to arrive at 6:30pm tomorrow (yeah like that will happen) so its very unlikely we will be off the ferry before 8pm. As far as I can tell the Barcelona Low emission zone does not operate after 8pm so I am assuming there is nothing I need to do. The annoying twist is that the Spanish appear to not accept the Portuguese (or any other EU countries), even though it is in the EU database and seem to want me to register on line, fifteen days in advance for a permit that I can only pay for with a Spanish credit card or in cash at a Spanish post office.
I cant see anything I can do apart from pay the €100 fine.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
