Hi funsters,

I thought I’d dip into your vast knowledge of all things related to Motorhomes!

I’ve recently purchased a Roller Team Pegaso 740 (not collected it yet), after much internet research I still can’t find where the leisure battery is located!

Also if anyone has one of these or had one could you let me know the good and bad you found?

Hi there
My 2021 RollerTeam 747 is the same build quality but different model.

Previous RollerTeam had a bad reputation poor build, then they realised the market for rental/hire motorhomes to be driven on car licence.

Autoroller had to up their game to secure their sales, now they are very reliable and most hire places keep them for 3 years(warranty repairs etc) and then sell them on.

To keep the weight to 3500kg lighter materials have been used:

Watch out for:

Curtains and blinds very flimsy easily damaged.

Lightweight funiture construction plastic locks!

RollerTeam are known for the good internal vetilation, brilliant for Spain but in UK you'll get elusive draughty bits .

I think your model kept the toilet cassette ..in my mind a good thing, so you may want to think about a SOG . to stop smells and no need for toilet chemicals.

I bought a 3yr old ex hire van, it was immaculate, hardly a blemish any where, except for dodgy roller blind and broken flyscreen.

You've just got to be a little gentle with everything, opening lockers, opening and closing the shower screen ... everything is light weight, you'll be fine.

The leisure battery may be under the habitat seats and the vehicle battery is in the passenger floor, under the foot mat.

Not sure about your Rollerteam but my leisure battery is in a box under habitation seat.

Used to have a Pegaso 740. We had no issues with our one (2018 model). Only problem with it was the garage payload was pretty small for the size of the garage, think it was 150kg. Hab battery was under the seat just in the hab door

Thanks folks,

I’m going from an old Autotrail which I’ve almost 4 years now, it’s fair robust and not given me many issues at all..

I did look at a few other manufacturers and found some of the build quality shocking, I’m sure like all things I’ll find a niggle or two with this van until I get used to it.

It appears there is only one leisure battery and no awning which I will have to purchase, has anyone had one of the Dometic awnings? They are cheaper than Faimma or Thule but there may be a reason for that!

Yup all done for weight, though the hire firm that I bought my RollerTeam from said the one leisure battery..and other kit supplied, had never gave his customers any anxieties for power or comfort.

I downsized from a 4200kg motorhome so had lots of kit to be rid of to lose weight, surprising all the stuff you thought "Oh so necessary" .. you really don't after all !!

Flogged nearly all of it off at the Fun Meeting at Swaffham last year/ 2024.

Maybe if you are buying from a dealer ask him if he would fit and supply a Fiamma awning at cost price ..a valued customer good will gesture, no harm asking.. maybe £1000-ish !?

If only I knew then what I know now as they say.
I am sure many on here will agree that the 4.5mtr Dometic Awning @ £1200 quid outlay optional extra plus additional weight of 70Kgs off usable payload on our new MH was a stupid mistake, as we have hardly used it!
Its hardly been used here in the UK as we don't use camp sites only wild camp or rallies, and you cant use them easily on continental Aires.
If only we had known at the time it was much better to use a separate fast pop-up outhouse to set up to up out dining tables, store bikes etc (cant remember name of them Quest pop up or summit) great when rallying for a few days in all weathers, and I wouldn't have to wind the bloomin thing in before bed every night just in case the wind rages up overnight.:swear:

Hi I have just followed you as I am looking at the same Motorhome. I would be interested to hear how you get on once you have done a few trips. Are you planning to travel just in the UK or abroad too?

Like others we do a lot of wild camping here in Scotland so it will be interesting to see how I manage with the new van! We go abroad once a year, last years trip was Italy with lots of stops on the way and back in various places, we have been to France a couple of times and are heading back there in August for a couple of weeks, I’ll let you know how the van is..

The dealer only supply’s Thule awnings at £1700 + vat! Think I may do without….i have seen a Fiamma for about £750 and it looks fairly straight forward to fit and it’s under 30kg

Similar experience, we have the Dometic although only paid £450 at Lincoln motorhome show. Find myself putting it out just so I don't feel it was a complete waste of money.
