I'm a newbie
Hi, we have just purchased our 1st motor home, brand new 685! We can only pick it up Thursday evening.... and will be going away to a festival Friday morning!!!!

I've searched the internet for some sort of manual to swat up on the ins & outs of actual using the thing, but can't find anything!

So I'm hoping someone could answer a few questions for me :)

- there is no electric hook up at the festival, can the fridge work off gas?

- what gas bottles do I need? Size? Attachment?

- do you fill up the water tank before travelling or once you arrive?

Thanks in advance

The only manual you need is this forum.

Yes the gas will run the fridge and 12Volt system will run it whilst the engine is running. All you need to do is make sure it is switched to auto.

As regards water take enough to last a day or two say half full as you will be able to source water at the festival.

If you don't want to move the van once set up you will need a suitable water drum to transport it in.

You will also need to spend £15 to keep asking questions!

You are most welcome to the best Motor Home site / Club / Forum in the world.

As Griff says above.

In relation to gas, your handbook should tell you the maximum sized gas bottles that will fit the gas locker. There will be an appropriate regulator and connector fitted (probably for propane but check with dealer at handover).

Not looking to raise concerns but believe the Roller Team 685 may be based on a Ford Transit chassis \ cab? If so, there are reported potential security issues with the cab locks and you may wish to have a search on here to review and discuss with the supplying dealer. As I say, not looking to raise concerns but maybe better forewarned.

Don't worry to much about reported security on your new purchase,I'm sure that if your first trip is to a festival you will be parked in a position that wont be easy for anyone to steal your home. Also there will be plenty of other motorhome owners about to give advice.
Don't ever feel afraid to ask advice here or when parked up as most owners were also "first timers"once.
Relax and enjoy.

Thank you soooo much for your help & advice. After much reading I plan to fit new locks in the future.
Mr Ed, yes, I was thinking I'd be ok at the festival & I can't wait to grill some fellow moho owners I think I'm going to keep it (trapped in) on my drive until I get new locks. Then it can go & live at the farm storage

Search box is up towards top right.
Click on it and you'll get the following -

Type in what you want to search for and select any of the filters.
Click search and it'll return results based on this.
Hope this helps.

As I said, not looking to be a doom and gloom merchant but think it's better to know about the comments that are becoming more widespread and enable you to take remedial action if you believe these are substantiated.
