We took out our Motorhome insurance with Ripe at a good price which was about half the renewal quote from Saga. They asked for proof of NCB and Saga have sent their usual document of proof (cancellation letter which includes the NCD entitlement) but Ripe insist they need a ‘certificate’. If we don’t/can’t supply this they will charge an additional £37.69! If we cancel it will cost us £25!!
Anyone else had this problem?

Always used the renewal document when taking out insurance with a different supplier. Ripe didnt ask for any proof when I renewed with them in October.

Update.
We spoke to Saga (everyone we spoke to were very helpful despite us not renewing with them) and they sent us a fourth letter which turned out to be the one mentioned by John Barrett and at last ERS, the underwriters for Ripe, accepted it and the policy has now been validated.👍 We did mention that we were members of a Motorhomes Forum with over 110,000 members! Maybe that swayed their decision 🤔

I looked at an on-line quote from Ripe and by the time I added the European cover (there appears to be none as standard), legal cover, windscreen cover (I need £6k+), EU breakdown cover etc. the quote worked out a whole £4 cheaper than a quote from Comfort.
It seems that one broker is cheaper one year and another broker cheaper the next. As brokers I would have assumed that they'd work in their clients interest as it's the client who is paying the brokers wages
