Hi guys, about to purchase another motorhome on Saturday, I took your advice and found that RIPE insurance was the cheapest by far, in some cases 20 pounds cheaper than the rest per month ! I have gone for Roadside recovery as well as hotel costs. However, is joining the RAC or AA doubling up on what the insurance is providing? Or should I pay for that as well?

Just a lady on her own, and if anything happens mechanically on the vehicle, then I am totally lost! driving it, habitation and hooking up etc great if somewhat slow ! but under the bonnet looks like my worst nightmare to unravel haha. Oh I know how to put the Gas in though.

thanks guys for your great advise Sweet Caroline

Insurance one should be enough.

You need to get yourself on a rally, many kind Funsters could then walk you through all those questions that you have.

Are you likely to be travelling outside of the UK? If so does your insurance cover EU breakdown/recovery of your motorhome? Does the roadside recovery from Ripe cover everything that you might need if you should breakdown? If it does, then great, that's all you need. If it doesn't then I would go belt and braces and get some other cover in place for peace of mind.

We need photo's when you pick up the motorhome on Saturday. I truly hope that you have a much better experience this time and can soon be on the road enjoying yourself.

AHH That is so kind of you, I think I will do RAC or AA, it is only about 70 pound per year ! Peace of mind. Yes I too hope that this goes more smoothly, I have just bought out the RANGE for anything plastic and lightweight for my new Van (Yet to be named by my grandchildren ! ) hahah, So i am hoping that inspections tommorw and again on Friday, prove that it is a Good van, as I have really set my heart and mind on getting her on Saturday morning in Holt ! yipppeee . This community has all been so kind and supportive to this Retired lady, who is looking forward to driving around the UK. Thank you

Thank you for your trouble in send me the above, greatly appriecated 1 Van has gone in for its service and Mot, this is a DECIDING FACTOR, as well as the HABITATIN CHECK tommorrow, whether it will go ahead or NOT? Quite worried at present, as it hasnt had a servie since 2022, because it hasnt done alot of miles, more than anything else. X FINGERS Caroline

Well thank you for your kind enquiry Headlight .News this end :-

" Renee", her name as she is a french renault haha, failed her MOT on some minor faults, that have now been sorted, and PASSED. There are some other Advisories left to do, but I will stomach those, about 800£ worth of things to be done before the next MOT, but very safe to drive away.

Habitation Failed, some minor faults too, but were fixed there and then with the Engineer/inspector, but definitely NO DAMP anywhere! Phew

So Pick up is as planned for tomorrow around 11a,m, the monies has been paid into the holding account of Motorhome.com account , and will be paid to the sellor, on my last check-over with 2 male mates tomorrow, so we then will drive her away on her trip to Suffolk.

I am soooooooooooo EXcited, and when I get some photos of course I will put them up here on the site ! Thank you for your concerns.
